Apple Orchard hiring in Nelson AreaDKNZ Tasman / Nelson Farm work / Picking Paid position(Know your rights) 16.50 +8% No experience needed
Spend your summer in our apple orchard! Help us in thinning our apple trees so they can be ready for picking! We need some hardworking people to do some thinning work so the apples will be turned into big and red with your help! Motivated individual may make lucrative income by exceeding the required speed and quality.
It’s the perfect timing! Come join us in our charming apple orchard in beautiful Tasman Region our region has a good vibes and is set amongst stunning landscapes beaches lakes and mountains. Join events such as Summer Kite Festival and Cardboard boat race together with colleagues from all over the world !
What’s apple thinning?
It involves removing the excess fruits or bad fruits from the apple trees in order to let good ones grow bigger and better. IT IS NOT PICKING. SO YOU DON’T NEED CARRY ANY BAG. JUST THROW AWAY THE FRUITS. EASY! However you must use ladder most of the time to reach the top fruits also meaning you must not afraid of height.
Minimum wages or Piece rate !
You are entitled to at least minimum hourly wages i.e. $16.50+8%.
But for people who are experienced and have a pair of fast hand we are willing to pay piece rate (by tree). Experienced and fast hand may earn $200++ or above per day.
Starting date: 03/01/19
Job duration: 3 weeks
Hours : 9.5 hours a day. 6 days of work every week.
If you’re looking for more work you are welcome to stay until the picking season which start on February.
Height of 160cm or taller
You’ll need to be physically fit (as mentioned carrying and climbing ladders all day)
YOU MUST HAVE VALID VISA TO APPLY FOR THIS JOB!
Own transportation is preferred but not required we can arrange commuting with other workers by carpooling
We can recommended accommodation close to town if needed.
