Backpackers Assistant

Oamaru Backpackers Oamaru / Otago Hospitality / Service Accommodation + Pay(Know your rights) $16.50 + 8% holiday pay Hospitality experience a plus!

We are a small (6 bedroom) newly renovated Backpackers situated in the heart of Oamaru, Otago. We are seeking an individual to help us with daily duties such as cleaning, check in/check out of guests, gardening, assisting with guest inquiries and taking bookings.

You should have a good level of English, some basic computer skills and a friendly outgoing personality.

You would be working on a roster ( usually 2 full days of 6 hours, 2-3 cleaning shifts of 2 hours) with at least 2 days off per week to explore what our region has to offer. In exchange you will be provided with a semi-private room, WIFI, power, washing, access to our edible garden and also breakfast.

This is mainly a work for accommodation exchange – the cost of accommodation will be deducted from your pay (2h per day). Any hours worked above the hours for accommodation will be paid @$16.50 + 8% holiday pay – so you must have a valid work visa, bank account and IRD number. Your contract will explain this fully when you start. 

This job would start around October 20th and we would prefer someone who is looking for three months minimum stay.

NZ work visa (working holiday visa) required.
