Assistance with Garden Maintenance & Chicken care

Debs Nest New Plymouth / Taranaki Farm work / Picking Accommodation + Food(Know your rights) None

We live on a 1 acre block 15 minutes from New Plymouth with both panoramic mountain and sea views, located next to the Mt Taranaki & Egmont National Park.We love all things feathered and hatch and rear a variety of heritage chickens, a hobby that has grown into a small venture supplying people with chook`s(chickens)for their backyards. The other residents include our 4 friendly companion dogs who love visitors and one shy cat.

We are Participants in the annual Taranaki Sustainable Backyards Trail, this year the event running from 26th Oct-4th Nov.

We require ongoing assistance with Gardening, Pruning, Chicken House maintenance, general outdoor work, fencing and building skills would be awesome too! for up to 10 days. The work is varied and depends on the skills that you can provide.

We offer 2 double bedrooms (one double, one queen) and shared guest bathroom in return for 4hrs a day work per person, this includes: Meals, including vegetarian options.(Breakfast & lunch are help yourself, dinner preparation is shared as we would love to try the food from your country)

Kitchen Facilities

As we are 14km out of the town with no public transport available, your own transport is essential to enable you to see Taranaki in your spare time.
