Apple Pickers RequiredMcKelvie Orchards Ltd Napier / Hawke's Bay Farm work / Picking Accommodation + Pay(Know your rights) Piece work basis. $17 p/h minimum + 8% holiday pay Some experience preferred, but we are happy to teach if you are well motivated.
Apple pickers are welcome on our friendly owner operated orchard from now until the end of April. We are situated just outside Napier City, Hawke’s Bay. Work is undertaken most week days, but occasional breaks can be expected owing to wet weather or crop maturity delays. We try and avoid working week-ends, but you must be happy to work on these if previous weather delays, or crop maturity necessitate a catch up.
Work is done on a “piece work” basis. Ie. You are paid for what you pick. If you haven’t picked apples before, please understand it is hard physical work, but in saying that, there is good money available for people prepared to work. Both male and female. Persons with experience are preferred, but if you have good motivation and are willing to learn, we are happy to teach you.
Clean back-packer type accommodation with all facilities (kitchen, shower, laundry, TV, etc) is available on the property to couples. Accommodation is only available while you are working for us, and preference is given to persons prepared to work for one month or more. You have your own rooms, and the charge for this is a very reasonable $100/per week per couple. ($50 each) Solo travelers are also welcome to work, but owing to a shortage of on-site accommodation, you will need to arrange your own hostel accommodation in Napier, an easy 10 minute drive away.
We have many years experience employing working holiday people in New Zealand, and do what we can to enhance your NZ experience while you are here. Hawkes Bay is a great place to work and live. Aside from our great climate we have 200k/m of cycle trails for you to explore. If you are interested, or require any more information, please reply to Ian McKelvie. When making contact, please provide a phone number we can make contact with, also some information about yourself. Eg. Age, male/female, home country, skills/work experience that you have, when you would like to work for us, how long would you like to work for, along with your contact phone number. This information is essential and we will do our best to help! Please note, you will need to be a legal NZ resident, or hold a current Working Holiday Visa before we can employ you. Many thanks, Ian McKelvie. firstname.lastname@example.org
